September 27, 2011

Interview and Q&A: 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Launch Party & Book Signing: 8:30pm - 10:00pm

On Tuesday, September 27th, 2011, spiritual teacher Andrew Cohen will launch his new book, Evolutionary Enlightenment: A New Path to Spiritual Awakening, with a special celebration in his hometown of New York City. The event, hosted by actor Linus Roache (Law & Order: SVU), mentalist Gerard Senehi, and EnlightenNext New York, will feature a live interview by Cohen's friend and fellow evolutionary thinker Howard Bloom (author of The Genius of the Beast), and will be followed by a launch party and book signing.

According to Bloom, "Evolutionary Enlightenment is not your standard spiritual book." This is because Cohen offers a distinctly different view from many of today's popular spiritual paths, which often emphasize "being in the present moment" and finding peace or relief from the complexity of our fast-paced world. According to Cohen, "being here now" is simply no longer enough for anyone interested in making a significant impact on the future. In Evolutionary Enlightenment, he redefines spiritual awakening for our contemporary world, presenting an original path, practice, and philosophy focused entirely on aligning yourself with what he calls "the evolutionary impulse."

Bloom isn't the only one who has recognized the significance of Evolutionary Enlightenment. Integral philosopher Ken Wilber describes it as "one of the most significant spiritual books written in the postmodern world," and human potential pioneer Jean Houston has dubbed it "a spiritual masterpiece." In the foreword to the book, Deepak Chopra says that Cohen "made me believe that there has never been a better time to be enlightened."

In their second public appearance together this year, Bloom will interview Cohen about Evolutionary Enlightenment and explore the importance of its contribution to contemporary spirituality. Following the interview there will be a party with hors d'oeuvres and champagne, during which you will have the chance to meet the author, have your book signed, and celebrate the national launch of Evolutionary Enlightenment.
