After Ken Wilber read Andrew Cohen’s new book, Evolutionary Enlightenment: A New Path to Spiritual Awakening, he called it “one of the most significant books on spirituality written in the postmodern world.” When Jean Houston read it, she called it “a spiritual masterpiece.”
On Wednesday, September 28th, EnlightenNext and Integral Life will present a special free webcast featuring two exclusive interviews in which both Wilber and Houston will speak with Cohen about why they view Evolutionary Enlightenment as such an important milestone in the evolution of spirituality.
As Wilber often points out, one of Cohen's most significant insights is the recognition that spiritual enlightenment, which for millennia has been seen only as a static state beyond time and space, is actually evolving in and through the manifest world. Over the past 10 years, these two mystical pathfinders have plumbed the depths of this simple yet profound integral realization together in their “Guru-Pandit” dialogues in the pages of EnlightenNext magazine. And from many different angles they’ve discussed how the spirituality of the future will be defined by evolution.
In that light, Cohen’s new book represents a kind of integral and evolutionary spiritual handbook for the twenty-first century. As Houston says, “If the fourteen-billion-year cosmic experiment that resulted in our lives is not to end in the next few centuries, it will require brave and brilliant steps in our spiritual evolution. In Evolutionary Enlightenment, Andrew Cohen gives us the inspiration and the means to accomplish the greatest of all endeavors for the human spirit.”
During the webcast, which will air twice on September 28th (3pm ET & 8pm ET), both Wilber and Houston will interview Cohen about the book, exploring its unique insights into the nature and relevance of spiritual enlightenment in today’s world.
